East of Shreveport on highway 80 was this overgrown building. I would have never known much about it until an older man pulled up and told me its history. This is the George Franklin grocery/company store. Mr. Franklin owned over 40,000 acres here at one time. Besides his stores, he also owned saw mills, stables, and a furniture store. And since there were no other towns readily accessible his employs bought what they needed from him. The old company store tale. This is a HDR composite by the way.
